Photographer of the Week (4)

Dana Trippe
Dana Trippe is a photographer and mixed media artist based in San Diego. She describes herself as being stuck in the 70s and her work absolutely reflects this. Most of her photos have a faded color scheme and graininess that gives them a vintage feel. She shoots lots of California lifestyle photos but does it with a fresh spin so it doesn’t seem like the typical "California girl" pictures that come to mind. She often creates trippy looking photos and adds many outside elements to the image, making it much more dynamic. I enjoy her images because you can see her soul reflected in the art she makes.

She recently did a shoot in the sand dunes and I especially enjoyed this collection of photos:

Her most famous series, “Living in a Fish Bowl” is actually what drew me to her because I had never seen anything like it done before and the images were really striking.
